More than 2,000 people have been arrested during Yellow Vest demonstrations in France. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said that more than 600 police officers, gendarmes and firefighters were injured during the events.
Demonstrations took place in many cities, including Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Bordeaux. An earlier count put the number of people detained in connection with the protests at 1,200; the latest figure brings the total to more than 2,000.
A person who became ill during a demonstration in Paris had also died after cardiac and respiratory arrest.
