The TUSAŞ-developed AKSUNGUR unmanned aerial vehicle successfully completed a critical mission focused on submarine detection as part of the TURNAs-26 Exercise. The mission’s stated focus was an activity directed at detecting submarines.
AKSUNGUR carried out the mission with the domestically developed TEI-PD170 engine. During the task, the UAV released into the sea the aselBUOY underwater acoustic listening systems developed by ASELSAN.
The exercise mission therefore involved both a submarine-detection task and the deployment of the aselBUOY systems into the sea. The aircraft involved was TUSAŞ’s AKSUNGUR, while the underwater acoustic listening systems deployed during the mission were ASELSAN’s aselBUOY systems.
