Following the fight and the red cards in the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby, Abdülkerim Bardakcı commented on how the incident began. “If you watch the video, you’ll see who attacked first,” Bardakcı said.
Bardakcı and Fenerbahçe’s Archie Brown were shown red cards during the derby. Bardakcı’s remark drew attention to footage of the confrontation and the question of who initiated the first attack. He did not name the person who attacked first in his statement.
Bardakcı’s comment pointed to the video as a way to assess how the incident unfolded. In his remarks after the confrontation, which resulted in red cards for both players, he did not accuse a specific player, saying viewers could see from the footage who began the attack.
