An application banning social media use by children under 15 in Türkiye will begin on November 1. The measure covers users younger than 15 and will take effect on that date.
Users who want to open a new social media account will have to verify their age. A code obtained through e-Devlet will be used for this verification.
Age verification will therefore take place as part of opening a new account. Users will obtain the code through e-Devlet and use it to verify their age; the application is set to start on November 1.
