Damage caused by flooding has emerged in Ayazağa, part of Istanbul’s Sarıyer district. The effects of the flood in the area have become visible as the city experienced heavy rainfall.
During the same period of rain, Istanbul broke a precipitation record that had stood for 42 years. The damage in Ayazağa was among the local consequences of the record-setting rainfall across the city.
During the same rainstorm, actor Demet Özdemir was trapped in a studio in Sarıyer’s Ayazağa area and was rescued after Coast Guard teams intervened. The emergence of the damage highlights another effect of the heavy rainfall in Ayazağa.
