Arrest warrant issued for Halk TV owner Cafer Mahiroğlu

An arrest warrant has been issued for Cafer Mahiroğlu, the owner of Halk TV. Mahiroğlu is abroad.

The warrant follows developments involving Halk TV on October 14. A trustee was appointed to manage the channel, and riot police blocked the road in front of its building with barricades.

Financial Crimes Branch Directorate officers later searched the Halk TV building. The channel’s live broadcast was halted, and access to the building was closed. The investigation into Halk TV includes allegations of bid rigging, bribery, and laundering assets derived from crime.
