İsmail Kartal said fans chanted “Resign” after his team’s previous match ended in a draw following a last-minute goal. Kartal had already expressed regret that the team had disappointed its supporters, and he again said he was deeply upset by what had happened.
“I am very sad too. I wish this had not happened, but it did,” Kartal said. He then turned to the upcoming fixtures, saying his team would win the derby against Galatasaray. His remarks followed the draw that prompted the supporters’ reaction.
Kartal added that more matches would follow the derby and said his team would win those as well. He also said the team would make peace with its fans. The Galatasaray derby he referred to is scheduled for Monday, October 26, at 21:30.
