A new rule sets a minimum fruit quantity for jam products. Each kilogram of jam must contain at least 450 grams of fruit. This establishes a clear minimum amount of fruit required in the product.
The fruit proportion in products must also be stated on their labels. Displaying this information on the label is part of the rule, alongside the minimum fruit requirement.
The regulation therefore combines two conditions: at least 450 grams of fruit per kilogram of jam, and a requirement to indicate the product’s fruit proportion on its label. Both the minimum quantity and the labeling requirement fall within the same rule.
