Billionaire Richard James Schueler was arrested in a dawn operation conducted by Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and police in Istanbul’s Beşiktaş district. Schueler, known by the nickname “Balina James,” was wanted by INTERPOL under a red notice.
The operation took place in Beşiktaş in the early morning. Schueler’s arrest brought the capture in Türkiye of a person sought internationally under an INTERPOL red notice.
Schueler was also accused by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of embezzling a fund worth $1.5 billion. The allegation was among the details associated with his arrest.
